How to choose a WINBOT
These are the two WINBOT window robots with current offers in our feed. We compare them on what ECOVACS's US pages state: body size, the smallest window each can clean, cleaning speed, power setup and what keeps the robot on the glass if power fails.
Before opening an offer, measure the smallest pane you want to clean and check where the nearest outlet is. Panes under 30 x 40 cm rule out the W2S; for windows far from an outlet, we suggest the cordless-capable W2S.
Which WINBOT fits your window size
ECOVACS's WINBOT MINI page lists 7,500 Pa of suction, a 215 x 215 x 55 mm body, a minimum window size of 22 x 25 cm and a cleaning speed of 3 minutes per square meter in fast mode. ECOVACS's WINBOT W2S page lists 8,000 Pa of suction, a 271 x 271 x 77.5 mm body, a minimum pane of 30 x 40 cm and a cleaning speed of 1 minute 45 seconds per square meter in fast mode. In our view, small panes, such as divided-light windows and shower glass, point to the MINI, while big picture windows and sliding doors suit the faster W2S.
Corded MINI or cordless-capable W2S
ECOVACS's WINBOT W2S page offers cordless or wired use and says it stays attached to the window for over 30 minutes if power is lost. ECOVACS's WINBOT MINI page lists a 3.3-meter safety rope, a 4.7-meter power cord and power-off protection that keeps the robot on the window for over 30 minutes. In this snapshot the W2S costs $139.99 more; we suggest paying for it if your windows are large or far from a socket, and choosing the MINI if they are small and an outlet is close by.
Safety if power is lost
ECOVACS's WINBOT MINI page lists a 3.3-meter safety rope, a 4.7-meter power cord and power-off protection that keeps the robot on the window for over 30 minutes. ECOVACS's WINBOT W2S page offers cordless or wired use and says it stays attached to the window for over 30 minutes if power is lost. We suggest always tying off the supplied safety rope on upper-floor windows, so the robot cannot fall if it loses grip; the W2S page we checked does not state a rope length.
Another brand we checked
We also checked one rival from another brand. HOBOT says the 2S has a 4.5-meter safety rope and a backup that keeps it in position for 20 minutes with an audio alert.
