How to choose Soundcore noise-cancelling headphones
All four are current Soundcore over-ear noise-cancelling headphones with official spec pages, so the comparison isolates noise cancelling, battery, charging, codecs, Bluetooth and weight.
Before opening an offer, check your phone: LDAC needs Android, so on an iPhone the Q31i's and Space 2's codec advantage disappears and battery, noise cancelling and price decide. Then choose by budget: about $40, $70 or $106.
Is the Q20i enough?
Soundcore's Q20i page lists hybrid active noise cancelling, 40 hours of battery life with ANC on and 60 hours in normal mode, and a quick charge for 4 extra hours, given as 5 minutes in its specifications and 10 minutes in its FAQ. Soundcore's Q20i page lists Bluetooth 5.0 with connection to two devices at once, 40mm drivers, Hi-Res audio via the AUX cable, and app EQ with 22 presets. It covers commuting and study on a tight budget; its page does not list LDAC, and you give up a newer Bluetooth version and adaptive noise cancelling.
Q30 or Q31i at nearly the same price
Soundcore's Q30 page lists hybrid noise cancellation, 40 hours of playtime with ANC on and 60 hours with it off at 60% volume, and 5 minutes of charging for 4 hours. Soundcore's US store page for the Q30 says it plays up to 50 hours in noise cancelling mode and 70 hours in standard mode. Soundcore's Q30 page lists Bluetooth 5.3, connection to two devices at the same time, SBC and AAC only, 40mm silk drivers and a weight of 260g. Soundcore's Q31i page lists 4-mic adaptive active noise cancellation with 5 ANC levels, up to 50 hours of playtime with ANC on and up to 80 hours with ANC off, and a 10-minute charge for 10 hours. Soundcore's Q31i page lists Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint connection, LDAC (Android only, turned on in the app, with dual-device connection turned off), Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, three call microphones and a weight of 265g. Soundcore's pages give the Q30 both 40 and 50 hours with ANC on, and its 60-hour ANC-off figure is measured at 60% volume, while the Q31i page's footnote measures its playtime at 50% volume, so the figures are not tested the same way. At about $2 apart, the Q31i is the better buy on paper, with adaptive noise cancelling and 10 to 20 more stated hours without ANC, under those different test volumes; its LDAC only helps Android users who give up two-device connection. The Q30 has more ratings: 97,910 in the feed against 18 for the Q31i.
What the Space 2 adds
Soundcore's Space 2 page lists adaptive noise cancelling with a -37 dB noise cancellation depth measured in Anker's lab, and up to 50 hours of playtime with ANC on or 70 hours with ANC off. Soundcore's Space 2 page lists Bluetooth 6.1 with multipoint connection, LDAC in wireless mode and Hi-Res Audio in wired mode, a 3-mic call system, 5 minutes of charging for 4 hours and a weight of 264 g. It is the only one of the four whose page states a noise cancellation depth, and unlike the Q31i its page does not say LDAC requires turning off two-device connection. We suggest it for flights or open offices; for most listening, the Q31i covers adaptive noise cancelling for less.
Another brand we checked
We also checked one rival from another brand. JBL lists the Tune 770NC with adaptive noise cancelling and a weight of 232g, at $149.95.
FAQ
Which selected offers are current?
3 current offers are confirmed for the selected products: $44.99–$69.99. These are automatic discounts; no code is required.
Should I buy the Soundcore Q30 or the Q31i?
At nearly the same price, the Q31i on paper: Soundcore lists adaptive noise cancelling with 5 levels, LDAC on Android (with two-device connection turned off), and up to 50 hours with ANC on and 80 hours off, against SBC and AAC only on the Q30. The Q30 has far more ratings in the feed (97,910 against 18 for the Q31i).
Do these headphones work with iPhone?
Yes, over Bluetooth, but Soundcore notes LDAC works only with Android, so iPhone users should choose on noise cancelling, battery and price.
Which has the best battery life?
The Q31i, with up to 80 hours with ANC off and 50 hours with ANC on. The Space 2 lists 50 and 70 hours, and the Q20i 40 and 60 hours.
