How to choose between the StreamMaster Plus2 and VisionMaster Pro
Both are current Valerion 4K laser projectors with the same listed gaming lag and speakers, so the comparison comes down to brightness and how flexibly each can be placed.
Before opening either offer, measure the distance from where the projector will sit to the screen wall and divide it by your screen width: about 1.2 is what the StreamMaster Plus2's fixed lens needs, while the VisionMaster Pro's zoom covers 0.9 to 1.5, which includes 1.2.
Brightness and throw ratio
Valerion's comparison table and FAQ give the StreamMaster Plus2 2000 ISO lumens and a fixed 1.2:1 throw ratio, while the same page's specifications section lists 3500 ISO lumens and 0.9-1.5:1 optical zoom. Valerion's VisionMaster comparison page lists the Pro at 2500 ISO lumens and the Pro 2 at 3000, with one 0.9-1.5:1 optical zoom row shared by both models. With a fixed 1.2:1 throw, a 100-inch-wide image needs the lens about 120 inches from the screen; a 0.9-1.5:1 zoom lets the same image come from about 90 to 150 inches. Because the Plus2 page contradicts itself, confirm its throw with Valerion before planning placement.
What the two share
Valerion lists vertical lens shifting, Dolby Vision and HLG, 2x12W DTS Virtual:X speakers and 2 HDMI 2.1 ports plus 1 HDMI 2.0 eARC port for the StreamMaster Plus2. Valerion lists input lag of 4ms at 1080P@240Hz, 8ms at 1080P@120Hz and 15ms at 4K@60Hz for the StreamMaster Plus2. Valerion's VisionMaster page lists HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, HDR 10 and HLG, the same input lag figures and 2x12W DTS Virtual:X speakers without separating the Pro from the Pro 2. For gaming and sound, the two are effectively the same; HDR 10+ appears on the VisionMaster page in a row shared by the Pro and Pro 2, and is not in the StreamMaster Plus2 specification list, although the Plus2 page's description mentions HDR10+, so treat it as unconfirmed for that model.
Who should pay more
Pay the $170.00 more for the VisionMaster Pro if your seating and shelf positions are fixed and you need zoom, which Valerion's comparison tables list for the Pro (the Plus2 specification section also lists zoom, so confirm before buying), or if you want HDR 10+, which Valerion lists on a row shared by the Pro and Pro 2. Choose the StreamMaster Plus2 if you can mount it about 1.2 times the image width from the screen.
Another projector we checked
We also checked a projector from another brand. The Nebula X1 page on Anker's soundcore store lists 3,500 ANSI lumens, a 0.9:1 to 1.5:1 throw ratio, Google TV with official Netflix and a 2-Year Warranty for the main unit. We did not compare it directly, because ANSI lumens are measured differently from the ISO figures Valerion uses.
FAQ
Which selected offers are current?
1 current offer is confirmed for the selected product: $1,199.00. This is an automatic discount; no code is required.
Does the StreamMaster Plus2 have optical zoom?
Valerion's comparison table and FAQ give it a fixed 1.2:1 throw ratio, but the same page's specifications section lists 0.9-1.5:1 optical zoom. The page contradicts itself, so confirm with Valerion before planning placement.
Are the two the same for gaming?
Both pages list the same input lag: 4ms at 1080P@240Hz, 8ms at 1080P@120Hz and 15ms at 4K@60Hz; for the Pro, the figure sits on a row shared with the Pro 2.
Is the VisionMaster Pro the same as the Pro 2?
No. This guide covers the VisionMaster Pro at 2500 ISO lumens; Valerion lists the Pro 2 at 3000 ISO lumens as a separate model.
